NW, NC Interprovincial Law enforcement operation Holiday makers have already started making their way to their destinations for the Easter Weekend. The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management together with its Northern Cape counterpart are conducting an Inter Provincial Joint Law Enforcement operation in Lykso on the N14. Officials from both provinces are out to ensure that motorists traveling between the two provinces are reminded to be safe as they travel, that driving permits are in order and vehicles roadworthy. During this time traffic is expected to increase as well as reckless and irresponsible driving by some motorists. Therefore the joint campaign above all seeks to reduce fatalities on the road and preserve lives. The campaign also targets pedestrians so that they too are aware of the rules of the road, to be visible and easily identified by motorists.
